LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY®
Collaboratively Developing Solution Models
Playing with LEGO®, as we know it, aims to follow strict building instructions to create replicas of real objects. The LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® (LSP) method, on the other hand, enables people to unleash their creativity to represent abstract topics or ideas, perspectives, or emotions.
At the center is a problem that all participants approach throughout the workshop by building, sharing, and connecting thought models made of LEGO®, guided by an LSP facilitator. The construction and presentation of individual models is followed by the creation of a group model that reflects the central problem from the perspective of all participants. This creates a shared understanding of the problem.
LSP is particularly suitable for complex problems for which there may be more than one “correct answer.” Examples include strategy and innovation workshops, team workshops, or the development of corporate culture.
