What it's about
Five phases, five stations, five impulses, five discussions.
How do we deal with the new? What can we learn from each other in the process?
Leadership Trails are aimed at executives who want to strengthen their tolerance for ambiguity—the ability to deal with uncertainty and contradictions—and break old thought patterns.
While walking, we become experts and researchers. Based on the Hype Cycle model, we move through five stations between reflection, exchange, and innovation. At the same time, we strengthen our ability for “ambidexterity” and learn from the experiences of others.
Leadership Trails promote mental flexibility and problem-solving skills – and bring clarity to thinking. We create space for new perspectives and impulses to then move into action.
The 5 Phases
Based on the five phases of the Hype Cycle, coined by Jackie Fenn in the 1990s, we move along five stations during the Leadership Trails.
Short impulses at each station encourage discussion, exchange, and observation while walking. The impulses are oriented toward the increasingly complex challenges facing executives in a digital and globalized society between stability and change.
In tandems, we reflect on the impulses, exchange ideas, and gain new insights, which we then share with everyone.
Thinking while walking
Between flipcharts, post-its, Miro, and Mural, we dare to experiment. Without digital gadgets or tools, we think together in motion. As Friedrich Nietzsche recommended, we do not trust thoughts that arise while sitting, but only those that come while walking.
Being in motion means change; being in motion means progress – not only physically, but also mentally.
Breaking rigid patterns and solving complex problems requires flexibility and a change of perspective. While walking, we put on new glasses, exchange ideas, and let ourselves be inspired. Together, we move from observing through movement into action.
Concrete – taking the new into your own hands
Concrete action strategies or possibilities that you will tackle in the next three months to change your leadership, as well as new connections and the ability to view situations through different lenses.
