Sauna Area
With four outdoor and three indoor saunas – each with individual advantages and exclusive furnishings – this sauna area is one of the most beautiful of its kind in North Rhine-Westphalia.
Additionally, the natural swimming pond with the island sauna and the spacious outdoor area invite you to linger. All of this offers you the perfect conditions to simply switch off, clear your mind, and enjoy peace and relaxation.
The indoor area offers:

-Experience shower including rain and light application
-Various relaxation zones (one with waterbeds)

Leisure and saltwater pool
With numerous attractions, the indoor area of the leisure pool invites you to enjoy a full day at WESTFALENBAD. Thanks to state-of-the-art technology, the roof above the leisure pool can be opened in just eight minutes, creating a unique outdoor pool experience. The outdoor pool atmosphere is further enhanced by the wide, light-filled window façade, which can be fully opened in summer.
Sun seekers can look forward to a spacious outdoor area. In addition to the terraced sunbathing lawns and a large terrace, the beach area and a children’s playground invite you to linger.
The year-round open saltwater outdoor pool offers a touch of the sea. With a view of the greenery, you can unwind and relax wonderfully at a water temperature of around 32°C.

Sports Pool
In the sports pool area, everyone will find the right pool—whether young or old, swimmer or non-swimmer. The 50 m sports pool presents itself in impressive size. It offers perfect conditions for recreational, club, and school swimmers. The diving pool offers not only four swimming lanes but also a 3 m diving tower and a 1 m springboard. And in the teaching pool, beginners and advanced swimmers can refine their technique.
The 50-meter lanes are currently available to visitors of the Westfalenbad on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 6:00 PM, as well as all day on weekends.

A “time-out” for the soul – our fitness oasis
Let your mind unwind, clear your head, and recharge your batteries so you can get going again with renewed energy – our fitness oasis at ARCADEON offers this “time-out” from everyday life. In addition to hotel guests, the area can also be used by day visitors for varied breaks and exclusively by small groups. For outdoor fans, we also have various outdoor fitness equipment in the park!
This area is open 24/7.
The modern fitness room impresses with a selection of effective exercise equipment: rowing machine, multi-gym, exercise bike, treadmills, cross trainers. This small but varied selection makes it possible to take a sporty time-out for strength, speed, and endurance.
… after your workout
Afterwards, the shower in the ultra-modern Keuco bathroom provides a touch of relaxation. An energy bar also offers refreshments and helps create balance between body and mind. And for the warmer months, there is also an outdoor fitness area in the beautiful ARCADEON park.

The many lakes in the region are very popular with water sports enthusiasts.
On Lake Hengstey, nature can be explored from a boat or by pedal boat and rowboat.
On Lake Harkort, there is a sailboat rental.
Fun and action are guaranteed on a canoe tour on the Lenne or Ruhr.
Guided full-day and half-day tours are offered on the rivers and their reservoirs with several different starting and finishing points, optionally combined with a cycling tour.
Walkers should enjoy the picturesque surroundings of the Glör Dam on a one-hour hike. A dog beach provides a refreshing cool-down for four-legged companions.
Award-winning hiking
Hiking at its finest – the Hagen 3 Towers Trail – is the first premium trail in the Ruhr region and is unparalleled within a radius of over 50 km.
There is much to discover on this circular hiking trail through the Hagen city forest – for both children and adults alike. With a length of 11.6 kilometers, the 3 Towers Trail is an excellent day-trip destination for the whole family. The hike takes up to 5 hours and reaches its highest point at 376 meters above sea level. Numerous vantage points offer a fantastic view over the city of Hagen. On a clear day, keen observers can even see as far as the neighboring Sauerland and the central Ruhr region.
This eventful circular trail is divided into sections focusing on nature, industry, and culture. Each part exudes its own charm and delights hikers with many wonderful highlights along the way. During a tour with a professional guide, hikers learn fascinating anecdotes and facts about the region.
