ARCADEON: New Charging Station for Electric Vehicles

“Time for Something New – ARCADEON Recreated” – with this headline, ARCADEON in Hagen/Halden has repeatedly appeared in the press in recent weeks.

New guest expectations are changing the conference hotel industry, which is why ARCADEON is adapting to new requirements with innovative concepts – now also to the new mobility culture. The time is right for environmentally friendly and resource-efficient mobility: electric mobility. ARCADEON aims to promote this through the installation of an electric charging station and thus contribute to the energy transition.

The Federal Government has confirmed in its coalition agreement the climate policy goal of bringing one million electric vehicles to Germany’s roads by 2020. Achieving this goal will essentially depend on the acceptance of electric mobility among commercial users as well as private customers. For electric vehicles to have a chance in the market, public charging stations are necessary, as well as electric vehicles that are affordable for average consumers.

This goal has been set by Mercedes Benz, among others, which is building electric cars for a broad audience. The “B-Class Sports Tourer Electric Drive” is the first electric car from Mercedes and combines a highly modern drive concept with unrestricted utility value. The company P-Labor from Ostenfeld is also consistently taking the next innovative step and offers perfect electric charging stations from market leader TNM for the hospitality, healthcare, and gastronomy sectors. The Sports Tourer will be the first to charge at the ARCADEON charging station installed by P-Labor.

Managing Director Jörg Bachmann speaks in this context of a paradigm shift associated with the development:

“An electric car driver does not ask how to get there, but how to get away.” Therefore, the electric charging station is also a magnet for electric vehicle drivers – not only for potential guests of the conference hotel, but also for drivers who are in the area. The charging stations can be viewed via an easy-to-use app. “It is also certain based on current knowledge,” Jörg Bachmann continues, “that e-mobility will not necessarily develop further solely due to subsidies for purchasing an electric vehicle, but will depend primarily on how densely the network of electric charging stations is woven.”

With this, ARCADEON demonstrates its progressiveness in this area as well.
