Time for enjoyment

The ARCADEON Recreated renovation project is entering its next phase: the hotel restaurant “KARLs” has also been given a new design.

Anyone who hasn’t been a guest at ARCADEON for a while will be amazed: following the reopening of the new hotel bar “Emils Bar & Lounge” (named after the Hagen-born painter Emil Schumacher), Managing Director Jörg Bachmann has immediately implemented the next phase of the redesign of the event center in Halden, giving his hotel restaurant a completely new look. And with it, a new name: “KARLs” is named after another great son of the city of Hagen, the art patron Karl Ernst Osthaus. With this naming, Jörg Bachmann wants to emphasize once again the ARCADEON’s deep connection to the region.

The innovative design of “KARLs” is a real eye-catcher: the elaborate light installation was designed by the Bachmanns together with designer Emell Gök Che and installed to a perfect fit by the Hagen-based company Bergenthal Leuchten. The spectacular image installation behind the new buffet system is also custom-made as a tribute to its namesake: a backlit glass wall, almost 15 meters wide, featuring the Hohenhof—the former residence of Karl Ernst Osthaus—as its motif.

There is also a fresh breeze in the culinary department: Head Chef Frank Drews has given the menu a new look and now treats his guests spontaneously to home-cured salmon or a hearty Westphalian “pizza.” By the way, guests who are not staying at the hotel are also very welcome at “KARLs”! A table reservation is required in any case.
